Food Freedom and Eating Disorder Recovery Tips

Hello your lovely ones,

Instead of asking how was your Christmas I'm going to say a huge well done for navigating Christmas! It can be a time of so much build up, some highs, some lows and then we swing straight into New Year and it's diet culture ways. I want to let you now that you are not alone.

This year many diets seem to be wrapped up in a parcel of "wellness" "good foods" and "it's not really restricting" when it actually is. Diet culture has a way of being so subtle but so destructive. So I wanted to share some tips on this.

It is probably a diet if:

  • You have to significantly monitor what you eat with an app, device, tracking, weighing, micro-planning.
  • If it is about reaching a cultural body ideal rather than your bodies ideal.
  • There are rigid rules around cutting out foods or adding in foods. What you can and can't eat. In actual fact we are all different and one fit rules don't work.
  • There is no room for flexibility.
  • If it leaves you hungry and feeling unsatisfied.
  • It requires you to add in expensive products such as green powders, detox products etc..

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this, hit reply and let me know.

HELP ME!

I'm busy planning a course and community for Eating Disorder Recovery over the next few months and I really need your help.

I want to know what would help you. I'm thinking:

  • live sessions on zoom where we goal set, eat lunch, discuss a topic, do a grounding activity.
  • short educational videos on nutrition and recovery.
  • Downloadable pdfs to use each week and feed back in the community to keep you accountable.
  • A community such as a facebook group that is moderated to keep it safe to support one another.
  • Recipes
  • What have I missed?

Can you hit reply and tell me?

The Recovery Tribe Email Food Freedom and Eating Disorder Recovery Tips Hi Reader, firstly let me say wherever you are in your recovery you are beautifully and wonderfully made! I promise. Before we dive into a meaty topic I wanted to share a story or two from the tales of when Priya's life goes wrong. I swear I could write a book on this topic. Firstly the time I tried to put up shelves. Let's face it, that shouldn't be hard, right? Well I rushed in (as I do) and didn't check the walls, I...

Welcome to your top Nutrition News, Recipes and Tips. Example link Welcome This month we're focusing on nourishment and myth busting. Once again (!) there seems to be lots of misinformation, extreme diets and straight up conspiracy theories going around at the moment. So scroll for tips on how to look out for these red flags. In particular, I've highlighted seed oils. These are oils like sunflower oil, and rapeseed oil, which are getting a lot of bad press. Products like oat drinks are being...

The Recovery Tribe Email Food Freedom and Eating Disorder Recovery Tips Eating Disorder recovery can be super tought and it takes time... which can mean a lot of support is needed and that can be expensive and isolating. So often people tell me that they just feel alone and like no-one understands. I hear you. Maybe you've been in social media communities and have found them to be pretty toxic places. Maybe you just don't feel you fit in or have people who understand what it is like to be...
