The unexpected Christmas suprise I didn't want....

The Recovery Tribe

Food Freedom Fighters and Eating Disorder Recovery.

Hello lovely ones,

So I bet you have all received a gift you didn't want. That moment, when you open a present and just are not sure why it's been given to you... Let me share some of mine. My mum is terrible at giving me clothes I don't like.

One time I got a leather jacket that didn't fit and in a style I didn't like (she hadn't bought it new thank goodness it was a hand me down) and one time a full size, I kid you not, weighted, flamenco dress. She even brought it over on the plane from Spain in a huge box. Did I want a flamenco dress? Nope. Can I flamenco dance? No? It did fit and was hilarious but frankly useless!

This week I've had an early gift, the gift of Covid. UGH. Not what I wanted either. But in my mind there is always some kind of spin to put on things, a silver lining if you wish.

For me, Covid is making me rest more and catch up on a pile of webinars I hadn't watched yet. Laptop on, lie in bed, listen.

The same can be true with so many parts of recovery. Whilst it totally sucks, try to find the spin. Some examples (but I'd love to hear yours!)

Having to eat all the time is hard work, I fill so full and it takes over life BUT... you are getting back your future and getting to rediscover you.

All those meal times with family where we argue so much are upsetting, BUT you will be so much stronger through the end of this and it shows HOW MUCH they love you and how much you are worth.

I hate seeing my body change and it's not what I want BUT you will gain a functional body for life and life is not all about how our bodies look. Promise.

I'd really encourage you to write some of these out that are personal to you. Hit reply and let me know what they are, or just tell my your more useless gift, that will make me laugh!

Sending love and a COVID free time,

Priya xxx

The Recovery Tribe Email Food Freedom and Eating Disorder Recovery Tips Hi Reader, firstly let me say wherever you are in your recovery you are beautifully and wonderfully made! I promise. Before we dive into a meaty topic I wanted to share a story or two from the tales of when Priya's life goes wrong. I swear I could write a book on this topic. Firstly the time I tried to put up shelves. Let's face it, that shouldn't be hard, right? Well I rushed in (as I do) and didn't check the walls, I...

Welcome to your top Nutrition News, Recipes and Tips. Example link Welcome This month we're focusing on nourishment and myth busting. Once again (!) there seems to be lots of misinformation, extreme diets and straight up conspiracy theories going around at the moment. So scroll for tips on how to look out for these red flags. In particular, I've highlighted seed oils. These are oils like sunflower oil, and rapeseed oil, which are getting a lot of bad press. Products like oat drinks are being...

The Recovery Tribe Email Food Freedom and Eating Disorder Recovery Tips Eating Disorder recovery can be super tought and it takes time... which can mean a lot of support is needed and that can be expensive and isolating. Maybe you just don't feel you fit in or have people who understand what it is like to be...
